- Grade 10 or equivalent
- NQF Level 1
- 16 years of age or older

- National Qualification – National Certificate: Hairdressing, SAQA ID 102497, NQF Level 4, 540 credits
- International Qualification – City & Guilds L3, 3002-66 (Ladies) or 3002-93 (Gents), optional add-on
- International Barbering Qualification – City & Guilds
